Biographies

Richard A. Cox, CQF
President, RAC/JEC Consultants Inc.

Richard A. Cox has been in the Information Technology field for 28 years, the last 15 years in the Quality Assurance discipline and has become an expert in process development and improvement. His interest in QA lead him to form RAC/JEC Consultants in 1992 and worked with such organizations as McGill University, Air Canada and IBM. He received his CSQA (Certified Software Quality Analyst) certification from Quality Assurance Institute in April 1994. Then obtained his CSTE (Certified Software Test Engineer) in July 1996. He has been a frequent speaker at the QAI International I.T. Quality Conferences on a variety of QA topics.

Richard has always felt that there has been one thing that seems to be missing from QA programs, initiatives and teachings. That is the people side, not enough emphasis has been put on developing the attitudes of the individuals that must implement and use any changes initiated. Beside management commitment, lack of employee involvement and commitment is the major contributor to failure. In his research he discovered Resource Associates Corporation (RAC) and Total Quality Institute (TQI) have developed processes that balances an organizations strategy, their people and their processes, to optimize their ability to succeed. Thus he formed an affiliation with RAC-TQI in 2003, where he is the first one in Canada, and obtained his Certified Quality Facilitator (CQF) certification.

He is now working with organizations in Canada, helping them to achieve higher productivity and profitability.
